WAPS validation

WAPS or Whois Accuracy Program Specification is a system introduced by the ICANN to validate the contact information of a domain name.

ICANN requires that all registrars validate the identity and the continuity of the information entered in the contact of a domain name in order to have up-to-date information about the owners.

Domain owners are responsible for the use of their domain.

Validation

The validation of the information is done by sending a mail addressed to the owner contact.

If this email is not validated, it will not be possible to renew a domain name.

In some cases, you will end up with your renewed hosting, but not your domain.

And, some time later, since the domain is not renewed, the domain no longer responds correctly on the Internet (the site is therefore no longer available).

It is therefore very important to validate the mails concerning this program.

Here is an example of the email:

Hello,

You received this message because you are the current owner of
domain names.

As part of a mandatory process that is require by ICANN,
we need to do once a year and for each modification a verification
of your e-mail validity use as a domain name holder.

WARNING: If you do not respond within 15 days the verification
fail and you risk the suspension of domain names.

So you have 15 days to confirm your email address
with a simple click on the following link.

You must click on the validation link to confirm that your address is valid.

If you can not find the email

If you can not find the validation email, it is possible that it has been transferred in your SPAM box.

If, despite your research, you can not find it, several solutions exist:

For example, you can change the email address of your domain name contact from your Online.net console.

This will resume the validation mail on the new address.

Finally, if this is not possible, or you still can not find the mail, do not hesitate to open a ticket or contact our assistance directly, who will be able to check to which address it has been sent and if it has been validated.
