Google Apps & CNAME

To use the services provided by Google Apps, it is generally required to make a modification to your DNS zone - either to confirm that you are the owner of a domain name or for the function of their services.

You need to make a validation by CNAME as explained in the following link: http://www.google.com/support/a/bin/answer.py?hl=fr&answer=47283

  • You need to go to “Domain” > “Configuration of the domain name (dns)” > “Edit the DNS zone”
  • Then add the CNAME record in the relevant part at the bottom of the page
  • Enter the information required by Google and submit your changes by clicking on “Modify the DNS zone”

Now you can validate your request at Google.

Note that setting a DNS record and distribution of new data may take time and it will take probably some time before you can validate your request.
