Installation using the management console

Requirements:

The installation of your server can be done in your management console.

Step 1: Type of distribution

The installations are grouped into four families (server, panel, virtualization, desktop).

Step 2: Selection of the operating system

Select the operating system of your choice:

Step 3: Personalized partitioning

You can personalize the following parameters of your partitioning:

  • the type of the partitions (primary, extended, logical)
  • the file system (ext4, ext3, ext2, xfs, reiserfs, nfts, swap)
  • the mount point of the partition
  • the partition size
  • the software raid (RAID 0/1/5)
When you start the CentOS installation with custom partitioning, you need to keep about 5 GB of unallocated disk space to prevent the automatic installation system from crashing.

Step 4: Configuration of the system

You can configure several parameters of your system, like the name of the machine, an user with its password, the configuration about the monitoring alerts and updates.

You need to specify an email address that is being used to send you security alerts about your server.

Step 5: Summary of the installation

On this page you can review all the information entered in the first four steps. You can go back, if you need to change anything.

Installation progress

This page allows you to observe the status of your installation. The time needed for the completion of the installation is depending on the operating system and your server.

Reboot of the server

Once the installation has finished, your server will reboot on its hard disk.

Remember: The installation of certain operating systems may not be finished after the first reboot and may require additional reboots for completion. We recommend to wait 45 to 60 minutes before you connect to your server
