Installation using an ISO of the NAS

The ISO images on the NAS can be found here: https://virtualmedia.online.net

We will use Ubuntu 14.04 in this tutorial.

In the administration area of your server, you need to click on “KVM over IP”. Attention, this button will be visible after you have done a first installation.

You have to go to the menu Virtual MediaCD-ROM Image

Now you have to enter the information from the NAS:

To use the KVM of a Dedibox XC, you need to launch the JAVA applet from the home page of the Supermicro server by clicking on the image (the screenshot). The applet will then be downloaded.

Restart the server now, during the boot you need to press the key F11

A boot menu will appear on the screen, choose “ATEN Virtual CDROM

Installation of the network drivers for Windows

This tutorial explains the installation of the network drivers for Windows on a Dedibox XC.

The drivers can be found here:

You need to download this ISO image on your computer, then access the KVM and click on “Remote Console Preview”.

Go to the menu “Virtual Media” ⇒ “Virtual Storage”.

Select “ISO file”, then select the ISO image you have downloaded to your computer ⇒ “Plug in” ⇒ “OK

Once the iso is mounted, you can start the installation by accepting the conditions

Click on the computer icon next to “Intel PRO Network connections Drivers” :

Install the drivers and the required software :

Once the installation has finished, the network is enabled.
