Configuration of a reverse DNS (IPv4) on your server

In this tutorial we will see how to modify the reverse DNS of your servers IP address.

It can be very useful, especially if you want to send emails from your server. If you are using the default reverse (.poneytelecom.eu), you may experience problems with deliverability of your mails and during the subscription of certain tools like JMRP.

Attention, it is required that a coresponding A record exists for your reverse DNS.
If you have created the A record recently, it may take up to 24 hours before the operation can be completed.

1) Connect yourself to your console, then click on “Server > Server list”:

2) Go to the administration section of the concerned server:

4) Enter the new reverse DNS of your ip (generally it is corresponding to your hostname) and click “Update”:

5) Your reverse DNS is updated now.
