RAID configuration via KVM on a DELL server (iDRAC) H200

The personalized RAID configuration allows you to create a RAID mode that cannot be created using the management console of Online.net (RAID10 for example).

You can do a personalized installation using iDRAC after the following edit.

Once the server is installed, the iDRAC button displays.

1. Click iDRAC to start with the creation of the credentials:

2. On the iDRAC webpage, click Launch to start the KVM Java applet

3. Confirm the connection in about two windows (depending your OS)

You are now connected to the KVM. Be cautious when using it.

4. Return to the administration page in your console, click Reboot to restart your server. During the boot process you have to press the CTRL + R keys on your keyboard to launch the RAID configuration utility:

Once this is done, you should see the following screen in the KVM:

5. Select the RAID card and press Enter to display the following menu:

6. Select RAID Properties with the arrow keys of your keyboard to display the following menu:

7. Select Manage Volume to manage logical volumes on your server:

8. Select the RAID type when creating a new volume:

9. Select the drives and save your settings:

10. Select a disk using the arrow keys on your keyboard. You can change NO to YES by pressing the space bar.

11. Press the C button to validate your edits

12. Select Save changes and then exit menu to finalize the RAID configuration and to reboot your server.
